The Indian Navy MR April 2022 Batch will be conducted in December 2021. The merit list will be available on website – www.joinindiannavy.gov.in in end March 2022. All candidates appearing in merit list will be called at INS Chilka for enrolment medicals.
The shortlisting of the candidates for written examination and PFT will be undertaken on the basis of percentage of qualifying examination (10th examination).
The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type. The question paper will comprise of two sections i.e. Science & Mathematics and General Knowledge. The standard of the question paper will be of 10th level and the syllabus for the examination is available on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. The duration of examination will be 30 minutes. All candidates appearing for written examination would be subjected to PFT on the same day.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection. PFT will consist of 1.6Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squats (Uthak Baithak) and 10 push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
Merit list for MR will be prepared based on performance in written examination subject to qualifying PFT. Approximately 400 candidates will be issued call up letter for Enrolment Medical Examination at INS Chilka on the basis of state wise merit.
The vacancies will be earmarked in a state-wise manner. For the total of 300 vacancies, approximately 1500 candidates will be called for written examination and Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The cut off marks for appearing in written examination may vary from state to state.
Admit Card for the online examination will be issued to those candidates who have successfully submitted the application and examination fee or are entitled to waiver off examination fee.
Selection of recruits is based on State wise merit of their performance in Computer-based Examination, subject to qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in Medical Examinations.
(a) The question paper will be computer-based with a total of 50 questions, each carrying 01 mark.
(b) The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type (multiple-choice).
(c) The question paper will comprise of two sections i.e. Science & Mathematics and General Knowledge.
(d) The standard of the question paper will be that of class 10th syllabus & sample papers for the examination are available on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.
(e) Duration of examination will be 30 minutes.
(f) The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate. The Navy reserves the right to determine the pass marks in each Section and in aggregate.
Penalty for Wrong Answer
Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the question paper. There are four alternatives for the answer to every question. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

The training for the course will commence in April 2022, with 15 weeks Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service.
